Meet Trae Young, the best player in the nation

traeyoungWhen Trae Young, was a junior in high school, his plan was to attend Kentucky. However, he was not ready to commit to the Wildcats, and Quade Green jumped on the chance to play for the Wildcats. Young was left in the cold, as Kentucky only had one spot for a point guard in their class. So Young had to rethink his entire recruitment. He opened it up to Kansas, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma State. Young, a Norman native, decided to attend Oklahoma and he could not be happier about the choice. Young told 24/7 sports “the phone calls to [Bill Self] and [Brad Underwood] were the hardest calls I’ve ever made, but I’m happy about my decision to attend Oklahoma.” Young has averaged 28.8 PPG and 10.3 APG through 11 games. He dropped career high 43 points against Oregon in Eugene. Young has been a road warrior, leading his team to impressive road wins against Oregon, USC, and Wichita State. He leads the nation in both assists and points. Young has made a statement through his first eleven games, and looks to be the leader in the clubhouse for national player of the year.
