Northwestern Clinches NCAA Tournament Berth (Essentially)

Northwestern has never made the NCAA Tournament in school history, for now. The Cats are 19-6 and just got their signature win of the year on the road against Wisconsin, without leading scorer Scottie Lindsey (15.4 PPG). Lead by Bryant McIntosh, Northwestern was able to squeak out a 66-59. Wisconsin got off to a quick start, taking an early 14-6 lead, but a 16-0 surge by the wildcats gave them a 28-19 lead late in the half. Northwestern lead going into break 31-22, but Wisconsin went on a 10-0 run to start the half. From that point on Chris Collin’s team dominated and held off Wisconsin’s late surge. Barring a major collapse, in a month Northwestern will be a tournament team. Chicago just had their first World Series in 108 years, and now their college basketball team will make for the first time ever!
